The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Secrets

1. As Child Link go to Lon Lon Ranch and talk to Malon. Once she's finished talking, whip out your Ocarina and she will teach you Epona's song.

2. As Adult Link, go to Lon Lon Ranch and talk to Ingo. (You want to have at least 150 ruppies before visiting Talon. If you don't have have the adult wallet, then kill 10 gold Skulltulas, go to the House of Skulltula in the Kakariko Village and talk to the dancing boy in the corner. He will thank you and give you the adult wallet!) Ingo will ask you if you want to ride a horse for 10 ruppies. Say yes and go into the stable. Whip out your Ocarina and play Epona's Song and Epona the hoarse will come to you. Press A to mount on Epona and ride around for no more then 10 seconds. Then, while on Epona, talk to Ingo again and he will say you're good on the horse and will challenge you to a race with a 50 ruppie wager. Say agree and you will have to race Ingo. Stay on the inside lane and Hit A to speed up by using a carrot. You have six carrots which will eventualy come back after you use them. Don't ever use your last carrot during a race. Win the first race and Ingo will then challenge you to a second race. Use the same strategy to beat Ingo and if you win, he will let you keep Epona, but he has a trick. The gates will close and you can't get out. Oh no! Here's the way to get out. Walk back as far as you can go and face the locked gate. Start running towards the gate and use your carrots gradualy. If you have enough speed, Epona will leap over the fence and your free. Now you can ride Epona all through Hyrule field at a much faster pace!
